The Speculators left the market in late 2005 but Tucson sellers didn’t get the memo. They thought it was just a pause, that activity would return and they would “cash in” on the next wave. After all “Real Estate Always Goes UP” Right? Of course it doesn’t always go up. Anyone even remotely familiar with volitility in a real estate market knows there are times when it goes down. Affordability is the key to the turn around in the Tucson Housing Market. It is the key to turning around the real estate markets in the entire country. Property values shot up to high and very fast. For the past 4 years affordability had little to do with buying or selling a house in Tucson.
