Tucson Listing Strategy for 2009

Do Not Enter When Flooded

It isn’t too early to discuss the Tucson Real Estate Market for 2009. I’ve heard a lot of agents recommending to their clients to hold of on listing their homes until spring when it is expected the Tucson market will “pick-up”.

The Only Thing Frozen In Tucson are the Daiquaris

Winter is for Barbecues

I’ve lived in Tucson now for almost 10 years. It was August of 1999. In just a few months I will have my “native” status. Those 10 years have gone by quickly and now I’m pretty much a full fledged desert rat. This means when it gets below 60 degrees “IT IS COLD”. Cold is a relative term.

The Hole in the Bottom of the Boat

An Economic Cold

Yesterday’s post Free Lunch Loans and The Economy of Greed ended on a rather gruesome mental picture of the body expelling waste. Didn’t mean to leave it there and didn’t realize the impact of that mental image till I was rereading it in preparation for this post continuing the last point on the hole in the bottom of the boat. My apologies for anyone with a cold.

Free Lunch Loans And The Economy of Greed

Government and the economy of Greed

We found out the other day we have been in a recession since December of 2007. This is news? Like someone, or a bunch of someones finally pulled their heads out of the sand and realized what many Americans have known the whole time but were waiting for the “leaders” to say that it wasn’t so.

What’s Going On At The Neighbors

Whats Going On At The Neighbors - want to buy some tires

We were out showing homes this past weekend. I had to snap this image of the back yard next door. The home in this shot is not for sale. Unfortunately home, where I’m standing to take this shot, is on the market. You know there are times when no matter how nice a home might be the property next door will lead a potential buyer to say, “Okay, I’ve seen enough, what’s next?”

Tucson Fall Colors

Tucson Fall Foliage

We don’ t have much of a fall here in Tucson at least color wise. Not the traditional maples turning bright colors and tree lined walks along streets filled with the smell of fresh fallen leaves during a wet rainy day.

To Buy A House You Must Save

A Savings Jar

Right now NOW is when you have to be saving to buy a house. Not when you want to buy. You can’t charge it on a card then save to pay for it before the bill comes

The Middle of the Week

Christmas Bulb Window

When you have a career that is all your own and you pretty much set the schedule you love the freedom; or so you think. One thing about a career in real estate, we give up the concept of “A Weekend”.

House Keeping at Tucson Real Estate Blog

House Keeping Duties Here at the Blog

Today was spent in house keeping duties. The newest version of Wordpress blogging software is 2.7 and I just upgraded this blog. The interface is completely different and I’m writing this first post on the new interface.

The Color of The Cabinets

Brick Work Repair

When looking for a house to make a home it is more important to look at the bones of the house than it is the color of the walls, carpet and cabinets.

Most things associated with color can be changed. Granted the color of ceramic tile is harder to do ( I know, I’ve done it ) but painting walls and changing carpet are minor things to change compared to structural ( good bones ) issues in a property.

New Arizona License Plate Law

Arizona Covered

The new Arizona License Plate Frame law could cost a lot of Arizonans a lot of money; $151 and $160 if you are stopped in Tucson.
