Tucson Living

Before Fire Trucks

It was a week ago today we drove up to Oracle and found Sue and Jerry Parra’s Treasure Trove of History. It could take a month to catalog and inventory everything they have at their place.

Things to Do In & Around Tucson April 3 – 5 2009

Tucson Home and Patio Show, Spring Fling at Rillito Park, Titanic Mobile exhibit, Oracle Studio Tour, Country Thunder USA are all events going on in and around Tucson this weekend April 4-5, 2009

Oracle Arizona

There is plenty of old rusty mining equipment sitting around town for those that want something to focus their camera on. Driving around the various streets in and around town was a blast. The air is clean and cool. There is grass growing in yards and Iris, real iris planted in the ground and not in pots.

Pioneer Spirit

What I admire most about the pioneer spirit is the spirit itself. There was no government to take care of people. There were no safety nets, no health insurance or jobs for that matter. There was work, and there were people with skills to do the work.

Are Scorpions Bad in Tucson

Actually, we have some of the best behaved scorpions in the country. I could even go so far as to say the world.

I’ve only encountered one misbehaving scorpion in the 10 years I’ve lived here. I’ve never been stung by a scorpion (scorpions don’t bite, they sting).

Lizzie Bell Blood Drive Information

Elizabeth is alive today because someone donated their blood. She stays Alive because you keep donating. Be a hero, donate blood. At the Extreme Home Makeover event at the Fox Theater we received bags with bottles of water and snacks to be given to someone to donate blood.

Armory Park Home Tour 2009

This is a self guided tour and you will have the opportunity to see some very old homes in Tucson. Armory park has a long history and there are some very architecturally unique homes in this part of Tucson.
