Tucson Extreme Makeover – Good Morning Bell Family

This morning Ty Pennington and his crew made their way to the door of the Bell family receiving the Extreme Makeover Home Edition Tucson.

Here is the information just released

BELL FAMILY CHOSEN FOR EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION

Tucson, Ariz. (January 27, 2009) — This morning the American Red Cross hero
Lizzie Bell and her family were surprised by Ty Pennington and “Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition” to have a new home built in seven days.

Lizzie Bell was born with a rare blood condition, Diamond-Blackfan Anemia,
which is characterized by a failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood
cells. Less than 700 kids in the world are stricken with this disease.
Lizzie and her family established the John P. Bell Foundation and for the
past ten years have been working to raise awareness about the ongoing need
for blood donations. Lizzie was given the Red Cross Hero Award for her
ambassadorship in telling others about blood drives and donating blood.

While she’s been helping others, the Bell’s own home has been neglected due
to the high costs of her medical bills. The home is sinking with gaping
cracks in their cement floor, suffers mold and termite problems and is in
need of other repairs.

Location: 4630 N. Paseo Aquimuri, Tucson, Arizona 85750
