The Tucson real estate market has been moving along steadily for most of this year. It continues to move now in August. I don’t know if you recall but the fall for the last three years August has been exactly that, “The Fall”.

The Absorption Rate faired better in February. The sponge was wrung out a bit during the month. Overall we see a slight decrease in the inventory and the amount of time it takes to absorb the current inventory on the market.


Tucson Absorption Rates January 2009

Picture cleaning up a kool-aid spill with wax paper. That’s about as good a description I can give of how absorption went in January 2009. It is a sign of the economy and the annual increase in January listings.

There was a significant drop in the overall absorption rate for Tucson from November at 12.59 to December 9.84 Some of the areas of town showed marked improvement.
