Number One Real Estate Agent in Town

Down town Tucson

You know there are a bunch of those in Tucson. Really? How can there be more than one number 1 agent? You know there are a bunch of those in Tucson. Really? How can there be more than one number 1 agent?

Things are Spread Out in Tucson

It is a long way from one end of town to the other

This past week I drove over 500 miles. Most of the time it was just over 100 miles a day doing routine things here in Tucson. I’ll admit our routine is more mile intensive than most people that live here in Tucson. Working in real estate mean you put a lot of mile on a car in a year.

The Only Thing Frozen In Tucson are the Daiquaris

Winter is for Barbecues

I’ve lived in Tucson now for almost 10 years. It was August of 1999. In just a few months I will have my “native” status. Those 10 years have gone by quickly and now I’m pretty much a full fledged desert rat. This means when it gets below 60 degrees “IT IS COLD”. Cold is a relative term.

Golf Time in Tucson

Golf Time in Tucson Come Enjoy the Greens

Some would say it is always Golf Time in Tucson. But if you want to know the best time to play golf in Tucson it depends on what you mean by “The Best Time”.

If you like to play on a budget then summer is the best time to play. Most courses after 4 PM will have a special rate. Summer rates are usually less than the rest of the year.

Warning: This is A Lame Post

Green Cactus With Thorns

I was going to make this a short post based on a question I saw in the letters to the editor this week in the “Arizona Daily Star” asking why property taxes were going up if home values were going down. Property taxes in Tucson are figured in arrears and it takes a couple of years for them to catch up. When values were going up taxes were trailing behind. Now values are going down and taxes are going up because they are trailing behind.

Tucson In October is Beautiful

tucson fall flowers

Have you ever had a plant you forgot to water and one day you looked up and there it was with it’s leaves drooping close to the stems and the flowers are wilted and practically falling off the plant. Well, that is what it is like for most of us living in Tucson in September.

Tucson Desert Thunder Pro Rodeo 2008

Desert Thunder Pro Rodeo for 2008 will be held:
October 11-12 at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds.  Here are the cowboys of yesteryear alive and well today as modern cowboys do what cowboys have done for more than 100 years.  These are top ranked professional competitors in riding saddle broncs, bulls, calf roping and bareback riding teams.

Tucson Real Estate Market The Fear Factor

Fear Often Leads to a Stampede

Right now nobody wants to write about the Tucson Real Estate market.  So why am I doing it?  For a couple of reasons.  A quote from FDR  “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” and Winston Churchill “The Optimist sees opportunity in every danger;  the pessimist sees danger in every opportunity.” Churchill’s actual quote [...]

September In-between Days of Summer Almost

Late Summer Wildflowers in the Morning Light

Here in Tucson we are in the “In-Between” days.  It isn’t fall yet, and summer is almost over.  The Monsoon Rains are still making an appearance somewhere around town a few times a week.
The weather is still HOT! and on a good day it is a “Dry Heat”  But there are plenty of other days [...]

On The Streets of Tucson

Driving with Polly

You never know what you will see on the streets of Tucson.  A frequent site not seen in many other places are large trucks rigged to carry Saguarro Cactus.  The other morning I was sitting at the corner of Oracle and Magee.  I was in the left turn lane to head West on Magee when [...]

Tucson Ironwood Trees in Bloom

tucson ironwood trees

This week I’m seeing the ironwood trees full of blossoms. They are an amazing tree and not far from where I live there is a 20 acre preserve for them. The high school just down the road is “Ironwood High School”. This is the time of year they are easiest to identify because of the purple and white blossoms.

Tucson Blue Palo Verde

I thought I was seeing yellow early this year; after a little research it appears yes, the Blue Palo Verde usually bloom in May and June. I’ve been seeing them for the past two weeks and feeling the results of all those blooms for about the same amount of time.
