Tucson Official Monsoon Season begins for 2010
The “official” start of Monsoon is today. No longer are we left to a calculation based on Dew Point. Instead the government has taken the joy and mystery out of the Tucson Monsoon Season.
I’m kidding of course (not). The “real” monsoon probably won’t arrive till sometime in or after the first week in July.
Tucson Sound of Rain
If you want to hear the sound of rain in Tucson, most of the time, you have to find one of these rain pools placed around town.

That all depends, Dave. If the government tells you when it’s coming, chances are they know when they’ll bring it! It starts earlier and earlier every year and lasts longer and longer. I was digging for info about that recently because the weather here is getting more bizarre by the day. Sure enough weather modification’s been going on in Tucson for a long time. Mind you, the report wasn’t even on some so-called ‘tin foil heads’ site – I believe it was on some U of A site, and if not, on a site very much “official”!

Where’s that rain? It’s already July and I’ve only seen three drops!
