I’m a little late in getting to this.  Oktoberfest on Mt. Lemmon isn’t a single weekend event.  it runs for 4 weekends.  The first two weekends have already passed and this is the third weekend Oct. 4 -5.  Next weekend Oct 11-12 will be the last weekend for the event on Mt. Lemmon.

Not Snowing Today

Not Snowing Today

I know some of you want to wait till the last weekend to get the coldest possible weekend of the event.  That’s what happens to people that live in the desert and can’t wait for it to cool off.  There is a certain joy in putting on a coat and feeling cold for a change.

It is also the best weekend to possibly see some leaves turn color instead of just die and blow off the trees, if they die at all here in the valley.

The music, beer, brats and folk dancing are all a part of the Bavarian atmosphere of Mt. Lemmon Oktoberfest.

Held at Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley at 9,157 feet you should definately get the feel of fall and brisk air.  Today there are clouds over Mt. Lemmon and rain is expected.  Another reason next weekend might be a better time to venture to the top and enjoy a brat.

For current conditions and updates on the festival you can call: 520-576-1321.

The picture was taken last winter.  It isn’t snowing on Mt. Lemmon today.  It is just to get you in the mood for Oktoberfest.  Besides, that’s not Mt. Lemmon : )
