Oktoberfest Mt Lemmon

About the only place cold enough around Tucson to hold an Oktoberfest is Mt. Lemmon and they do a bang up job of it every year by holding Oktoberfest over four weekends each year. It started this year as Septemberfest on September 22-23 & 29-30. Then as the weather turns even colder Oktoberfest continues on October 6-7 & 13-14.
It was my intended goal to make it up the the festival, get some pictures on that first weekend and post them with more information; that obviously didn’t happen. It is on the agenda for this weekend, but since there are just two weekends left I want to get this post out there for those wanting to venture to the top of the mountain and grab some great food and entertainment.
- On Ski Valley’s third deck, bands directed by John Prokop will perform traditional German music Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 14.
- Traditional German dance performances by Bela Vrucina will be on Sundays.
- German beer and foods will be served at The Iron Door Restaurant in various combinations.
- The Miner’s Sweet Tooth will be selling treats, including German Chocolate Fudge
- The Mother Lode Gift Shop will be selling beer steins and clothing.
- Those attending are encouraged dress warm and bring chairs and blankets.
- There is no charge but you will have a $4 parking fee.
Did you know Ski Valley being the southernmost ski lodge in the continental United States?

Adeline,
I’m not sure what will be on the menu this year. But I’m sure you will find something of interest and interesting options for food.

Due to my work schedule we were not able to attend the October fest this year at Hi Corbet Field, and sure regret, that we missed it. We were just wondering, if there was a chance to be at the October Fest at Mt. Lemon this coming weekend, Oct. 9th. thru 11th. 2009 Please advise. Thanks so much, Anthony & Irma Holodynski
