Searching Web 2.0 Style blogsearch google – technorati

Two  months ago I had never heard the phrase “Web 2.0″ now I see it everywhere, if you aren’t familiar with it I’m sure you will be before long.    I’m just learning about all this.   I’ve always told people that even if you just learned something 5 minutes ago to someone that doesn’t know anything about the topic you will appear to them to be an expert.

Well, I’m no expert and   could get a lot of things wrong on this, but I am learning some very useful things about the web and Web 2.0 specifically.

It is about Social Networking, things like YouTube, MySpace, Facebook, and others.    I’m not too interested in that part of the Web 2.0 experience, but there is another side of it that I’m very interested in.   Blogging, and searching for information on the web,  RSS feeds,  googleblogsearch image   and   technorati gif

I’m  focusing on the searches in this post,  If you want to  know more about RSS Feeds check  out our post at The Real Estate Blog Lab on RSS.

I recently discoverd that if you want to find the most up to date information you should first do a blog search, then a regular web search.   Google provides this through the blog search with the option to do a web search as well from the same screen.

Blog posts are indexed (meaning you can find them in a search) by search engines in a matter of minutes instead of days or weeks like webpages.   This means the information you are looking for might  be on the web, but you can’t find it  yet in your search results.

Eventually blog posts are indexed  in a regular search, usually a couple of days after you can find it in a blog search.   So I’ve started doing my searches using the blog search window and  then moving on the  the regular search window.   Give  it  a try and welcome to the world of Web 2.0 searches.
