The WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship is one of four World Golf Championship events that is organized and sanctioned by the International Federation of PGA TOURS, and is the only tournament of the four that features a single-elimination match-play format.
Eligibility is limited to the top-64 players on the Official World Golf Ranking. Past champions of the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship include Jeff Maggert, Darren Clarke, Steve Stricker, Kevin Sutherland, Tiger Woods (twice) and David Toms.
The tournament makes the move to Arizona from the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, where it was held in all but one of the tournament’s eight years.
The dates for the next event is February 19 practice rounds begin, Feb 21 First rounds, Feb 25 finals.
