It is actually pretty scary having this much control and knowing I always lose, but somebody has to do it. : )

Linda,

It is actually pretty scary having this much control and knowing I always lose, but somebody has to do it. : )

By: Linda Davis

<guid

If you have at least 10 years ahead before you plan to use the money, leave them alone. They'll figure something out - print more money, bully somebody, invade somebody...
I had my 401K in a money-market account for a long time. It was doing nothing, nada, zilch... until I got tired of it and decided to do SOMETHING. As soon as I purchased my funds (around May of last year), everything started dropping like rocks. Shortly thereafter I started reading that cash is no longer trash. Hey, I had it in money-market when it was trash and went shopping for funds when it's not. Can't beat it. After dropping quite a bit, they started going up and now... we all know about now... The thing is that diversification seems to be total BS nowadays. We're one global village - the foreign funds go up and down perfectly aligned with the domestic ones. Same with large caps and mid caps. And I bought a house in 2005 (I'm out of it, but how is it for luck), and I have a contract on a new one now that everything's going to the hot place... Sometimes I start wondering if I have some Irish blood I don't know about.:-(

I like your investing, Dave!;-) It’s worse than mine!;-) Buy, hey, you made 2K…;-) You shouldn’t play with funds like this in panic mode, though.
