Tucson Finger Rock Trail
The Tucson Finger Rock Trail head is easy to reach by taking Skyline to N Alvernon Way Proceed till you see “Dead End” and the parking for the trail is on the left. You can’t see finger rock in this image, it was way up in the clouds the day I took this shoot and it was cold enough you wouldn’t want to be hiking up there anyway. Anyone can get to the trail head, from there it gets more difficult and the further you go it gets a whole lot more difficult. But the views are spectacular.
I have only been to the trail head itself. One of these days soon I’ll walk some of the trail itself. It is a trail intended for experienced hikers to be able to complete the entire trail.
However, the casual hiker can enjoy a great deal hiking as far as their level of abilities and hopefully sensibilities will allow. For a good detailed look at the trial check out this site Finger Rock Trail Tucson Arizona The author provides a good description of what to expect when hiking the trail. He includes some really hand images to help find your way.
Now where did I put those hiking boots.
