Tucson Catalina SunsetThis week has flown by. The Stock market and the economy have taken the headlines away from the candidates. (See there is something good that came out of it)

So this evening before the sun set I went looking for an image. It is supposed to be cloudy and rainy for the next couple of days. I sensed this might be my last opportunity for a while to get out and shoot something that isn’t tied to the economy, the stock market or the political scene.

I’ve been reading Scott Kelby’s second book on Digital Photography this week. One of his suggestions for something different “Shoot Square”.

I’ve never tried shooting square, till now that is. Here is my first square shot. It is one of those if you click it you get to see a really good size image. This image original is over 12 meg in size. The large one you see here when you click on the small one is less than 1/4 the original size. Any one wanting a copy of any of the images posted here are welcome to them.

I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did the short hike with camera and tripod to take it. It was nice to get out from behind a desk and keyboard and take a few minutes to indulge my passion. I hope you get the same kind of opportunity this weekend whatever your passion.

My camera only shoot round. what should I do?

There is a square filter attachment you can get to take care of that.

They come in square or rectangle. If you spend a little more you can get the adjustable filter which does both.

why is it that I get the impression you are pulling my leg. :) LOL. . . is this like when my son told me I needed headlight fluid for my car?

  5. Dave Smith Says:

    T,

Yep, it might be. Or you might need muffler bearings to go along with that headlight fluid.

    Jim,

The batteries were going out on my penlight as I pointed it at the mountains but I took the picture anyway. Really created a nice light on the mountains.

From now on I’m carrying some almost dead batteries with me so I can create that effect when needed.

Great shot, I just wish my room shots of my listings could be as good

    Chris,

They could be, but I don’t know how good a room would look with a mountain in the middle.
