One of the sure signs the Tucson Monsoon Season is over is the arrival of the fall winds and the decreased humidity. The other subtle sign is when the cow skulls smile and the dinner bells lift there lids in celebration of the arrival of fall. Just look at him; doesn’t he look happy!
I’ll have to admit, I don’t know if it is officially over or not, but to anyone that has lived here through this summer we can tell. Your whole body can tell as soon as you step outside early in the morning and there is a crisp clear breeze and the air is fresh.
As the sun goes down at night you don’t feel like a cookie in an easy bake oven. The old easy bake oven not the one that was recalled this summer.
There are a few remaining white puffy clouds to serve as a reminder of the summer showers passed. They are also accompanied by the arrival of the fall clouds which bring the October rains and the time for the planting of gardens.
October 10 is the date for snow peas. Those have always been my favorite to grow. But, that time is still three weeks away.
Now is the time we live for, now is the time when the weather in the rest of the country begins to turn cold and the furnace starts to run. Here we are approaching the time when we open the doors at night and allow the cool fall breezes to cool our homes while we sleep.
Twice this week there have been searches with the phrase “is the monsoon over yet in tucson?” and “how long do the monsoons last in tucson Arizona?”
First, the Tucson Monsoon season is over (unofficially)
Second, This time the Tucson Monsoon Season lasted a Year! Well it seemed like a year.
Another way of knowing the Tucson Monsoon Season was long this year is this search “dangerous and deadly butterflies” you know when people are searching on “dangerous and deadly butterflies” it has been a long Monsoon.
Tucson Real Estate also likes it when the monsoon season is over because the blowing away of the summer heat usually means people will look at houses again. As the weather turns cold up North the Snowbirds and Winter visitors begin the annual migration to Tucson. It is a wonderful time of year. The best time of year. It is the beginning of the long dry warm winter weather we all love.
