Picacho Peak

Anyone driving between Tucson and Phoenix goes right by Picacho Peak. From a distance it looks like a giant saddle on the horizon. As you get closer some have said it looks like a Huge Throne, I’ve even had some say they can see a man carrying a cross walking across the top of the ridge as you drive past the main peak.

The Furthest Most Civil War Battle

The only skirmish of the Civil War in the Arizona Territories took place at Picacho Peak. It wasn’t much of a fight; 12 Union 1 Scout; 10 Confederates.
