Tucson Thanksgiving 2007 Is that Snow?

tucson desert broomToday was the day when we all got up early, this year very early, there was a freak thunderstorm last night and it sounded like someone was demolishing homes on the next block in the middle of the night. Thunder Lightening Rain and Hale were the four friends that greeted us early this Thanksgiving morning.

But was there snow. It looks like snow. As you drive down the road or sit on the back porch there are white flurries swirling in the air everywhere. It is snow? No it is the Desert Broom plant in full Bloom.

Here at our house the day is winding down. We were up early cleaning the house and the bird. Then began the making of the pies, breads, casseroles, that make up our Thanksgiving tradition. I like to say “In the morning we stuff the bird, in the afternoon we stuff the turkeys.” We gobble, gobble, munch, munch, then head for seconds to see if we can cram just a little more into the turkey.   We hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving Day. Now where’s that last piece of pumpkin pie?

    Ha-ha, that’s funny! :-)

I heard horrible thundering on Wed night, too (on the East side),and was wondering who got all this rain… so it was you! ;-)
