What do Snowbirds Look Like

Snowbirds playing GolfWhat do Snowbirds look like was a google query which came in to this blog today.   It first made me smile then as I read it again I laughed outloud.   I then got to wondering who would be asking this question.

  • A person that is just getting interested in Bird spotting?
  • A person who is younger enough they don’t know who Doris Day is?
  • Someone who lives in a very cold climate?
  • Someone that is getting ready to be one and wants to know how they are supposed to look, dress and act.
  • Anyone that wants to know geographically where they can go to see them in large groups and gatherings.

Snowbirds In a GroupSnowbirds look like anybody else with a few exceptions.

  • They have annual migration patterns
  • They have tans in winter
  • They eat out more than others (this is changing, others are catching up)
  • They play more shuffle board and  golf than most
  • They take time, make time, enjoy time and realize how precious it is

Snowbirds do not have wings (usually).   Snowbirds are also referred to as “Winter Visitors”

Snowbird Shuffle boardersSometimes snowbirds end up liking the Tucson winter habitat enough they sell the summer bird house and move to Tucson perminantly while remaining snowbirds at heart.

  1. Some of those snow birds are my neighbors and they will be back to enjoy a beautiful Minnesota summer.

  2. Dave Smith says:

The lady in the red shirt with the red visor in the middle picture is my mom.

Now I know how the guy with the red shirt got his start.

  3. So you got a good start in life, now it is up to you to make the most of it. You could even expand your wardrobe to include other colors.
