We are seeing more cell towers as Saguaro Cactus around town since I wrote this post, but still no palm trees.

Evan,

We are seeing more cell towers as Saguaro Cactus around town since I wrote this post, but still no palm trees.

By: Evan

<guid

We just got one a couple of month ago that is a giant Saguaro cactus. It comes with the hole in it for the birds. Fake cactus, yep fake hole. They do make cell towers easier on the eyes and landscape. I think it is a very positive way to blend into the landscape and it seems to have quieted a lot of residential resistance. It is always fun to hear people complain about poor cell service at home while picketing for no cell tower in their neighborhood.

Garrett,

We just got one a couple of month ago that is a giant Saguaro cactus. They are hidden in other places you would never think. You know those huge signs on the sides of freeways advertising businesses in a shopping center? They're in some of those too. In the mid west they put them in silos...lol. In church steeples, etc.

Yep, we’ve got those all over California, I’ve seen the ones that look like pine trees here too although the palms look nicer. I would love for our cell towers here in Tucson to be so cleverly disguised.

Wow! That is a very clever idea. We have the majestic Saguaro's and lots of diversity even though we’re in the Sonoran Desert. Las Vegas sits in the Mojave Desert which is much dryer and plants have a hard time living there naturally.

I think Tucson’s desert is one (if not) the most scenic in America.
