Contest, Arizona is a great place to live. It is a special community designed by and for dyslexics and others who think the world is just plain backwards. You can imagine what it is like being a normal person living in this community. Well, it is like being a dyslexic living in any one of a thousand communities around the country.
As if life weren’t difficult enough I happen to have chosen the profession of REALTOR®. I love my job, helping dyslexics and those of us who are otherwise challenged by life to find homes. I’m just getting started in Contest Real Estate and have been looking for the best way to get in touch with others of like minds from Arizona and the rest of the country when I thought, “Why not make it the whole world and not just the U.S.”
I figured the best way to do that was to create a web site for our community. I thought about it quite a bit and finally settled on http://www.golbetatselaercontest.com as the place to let people of the world find our community.
When the idea of a community designed primarily for dyslexics was first being considered the group at the coffee shop decided it would be hard enough designing this communiy, so they decided not to start from scratch but pick a community in Arizona to serve as a model for Contest. It didn’t take long for them to have their final candidate, they chose Tucson, because it was already as backward a community we could find and would be easier to adapt for dyslexics and the like.
Even though dyslexics were the first group of people to come to mind it was determined that there are many people that think our world and their lives are backward as it is. The city of Contest, Arizona is a perfect place for them to consider making home as well.
That’s about it for now. We will be adding a town map soon and some other coping mechanism. Of course the recent elections changed things considerably, but that’s another story for another day.
