I’ve just posted another update to this post including the following statement at the end:

“I had heard that come the New Year these reports would be released in a more timely manner. But it seems not. Too bad they canâ€™t get their act together. I read recently that â€œOne Ah Sh#$ wipes out Three AtaBoysâ€. I wish TAR would get that message.”

Yes, it is late in the month. Yes, almost every MLS in the country gets their stats out in less than 10 days into the next month. Yes, TAR should fix this.

I’ve enjoyed reading your blog over the last 6 months. You have helped me learn much about the local market. Do you the status of January’s MLS statistics report? I’m unable to link to January’s stats and it seems quite late in the month for them to be published. Or, is it possible that the link has changed for 2008? Thanks again!

We will keep tracking this next week and providing updates if there are more being entered. If there are fewer than 20 additional transactions then I would say the threat had an impact, then they have to follow up with the fines to make it stick.

Surprise, surprise, huh?! But you’ll never find out if anybody was fined, right? Guess next month’s numbers would be a good indication of that…

It all depends on whether any fines have been ever enforced in the past. We all would do just about anything we can get away with… That’s how human nature works …

Maybe your fellow realtors did get scared a little bit, Dave. There was some drop in the numbers of available houses in the zip code I watch when I looked today.
