This morning there was an article stating Pima County is facing a nursing shortage.
The article stated that our existing nursing population is ageing and we need an influx of new nurses to fill the ranks of those retiring and to help with the influx of new citizens to Pima County.
I don’t know if anyone is recruiting nurses since we have a shortage. If they are I would be approaching this the same way we approach tourism.
We have more than 350 days of sunny clear skies. We have warm winters and great sunsets. We have hiking, biking, golf and many other activites which can be enjoyed year round. We have fantastic mountain views. We have just about any kind of restaurant you would want right here in Tucson.
Calling All Nurses Want to Move to Fun in The Sun
This might be your opportunity to move to a place where there are no snow shovels except in museums and snowbird mementos in the garage. Tucson is a place where, as I was reminded today, you will find no backyard hockey rinks.
We do have lots of swimming pools, lots of sun, and very few misquitoes or bugs : )
Do you think she is too young to apply?

The nursing shortage is hitting all states pretty hard – it’s one of the few careers today that guarantee (a) job security and (b) your pick of where you want to live. I like your spin on how to attract them to your city.
