Well, I have every intention to use it as a home, but still the thought of seeing the value of your house possibly dropping as soon as you walk in is not very comforting. In my case, it can be double whammy because it's brand new. Life happens... you may have to sell it for some reason. If the market doesn't pick up, the builder's gonna be there forever. Go compete with them... As far as the ATM deal, that's the American way... I'm only a naturalized American.;-)

You have a nice weekend, too, Dave!:-)

If you are buying your home to live in and don't intend on trying to sell it in the next year or two so you don't incur any capital gains you should be fine.

Don't use it as an ATM, or an investment, but as a home. Of course it is an investment but strictly just an investment.

Have a great weekend, I'll be back with stats tomorrow.

But they won’t really be worth much. I’ll let you know why when they post. A hint, it has to do with year end expirations.

I personally have the feeling that a lot of the same houses have been in circulation for at least a year, if not two... Oh, well, I'm finally closing in a month, so only time will tell if it was a good or a bad choice.

Concerned,

I know you were teasing. Thanks for the tease :) I got buried again today, but I promise those stats this weekend including absorption rates.

Jim,

I'm using the invisibility filter. I position the camera where I know it won't be to difficult to remove it in post processing. Also with off camera flash I don't have to worry about those nasty hot spots. One more little trick. I'm using daylight balanced fluorescent lights in the fixtures when I shoot the rooms. I have 8 of those bulbs I move from room to room as needed. They are always cool to the touch.

I try and position the camera as straight as possible but when I can't I fix the verticals. Having good verticals not only make the images look good, but the psns and scans in the virtual tour montages look much better.

If I go out to 12mm to get some details at times I use Nikon Capture NX software that has a feature to correct distortion. It knows what lens at what mm when the image was taken.

Thanks Jim for your comments. It really means a lot. Hope to have something I can submit this week yet. Three days of rain moving in so might have to wait till next week.

How did you get the head-on shot into the bathroom mirror, computer manipulation or were you using your invisibility filter? You are doing a good job of avoiding distortion in your vertical lines that we normally get using a wide angel lens like 14mm. Your photographs really sell the place. You should ask for a raise from Barbara.

Jayson,

Thanks for your comment. Now for the total truth of the post. Since the address is all Spanish I was having no luck at getting the site indexed. This rarely happens. So I decided to blog about the property. Besides it being everything I said in the post. Very different and really a nice place.

Within 20 minutes of publishing this post it was indexed for the address. Just what I was hoping would happen.
