(This is where the photo would have gone if the string between the cans hadn’t broken)
Funny I should chose that title. I know we just past the first 100 days of the Obama administration and I hope now the comparisons between this and FDR will take a nap or vacation or maybe simply slip into the sand of time.
I say funny, because for the past two days I’ve been in Phoenix not Tucson. I came up to Phoenix to co present at a conference on WordPress blogs. That is the software this site is built on. It is what I use to build all our listing sites and the other blogs I author.
Running a Technical Wordpress Blog
I have an online technical journal I keep filled with various tutorials, tips, how to’s and marketing and blogging ideas over at The Real Estate Blog Lab. I call it my hobby blog but it has garnered a following among Wordpress bloggers, some in real estate and some just using Wordpress as their blogging platform looking for answers.
If you have thought about starting a blog for personal use or business consider using the open source Wordpress.org (self-hosted version) And you can get a lot of help on setting it up from the blog lab. You also know how to get in touch with the author : )
Stock Market Euphoria
I see the stock market took another euphoric jump yesterday. Reality bites doesn’t it! That’s not a question. Today it wanted to party on, but the word “bankruptcy” was like the parents suddenly coming home when the kids had the party in full swing. The music stopped and everyone was told to “Get Out”.
The Summer Sun
This one I have to fill in from reading the paper, I have no personal knowledge of it myself. I haven’t stepped outside in a day. It is the Airport Radisson in Phoenix but it might as well be the Hotel California where you can check in but you can never check out. I’m putting that to the test tomorrow.
Meanwhile the end of the month slipped in here and we are on the final countdown for Closed Transactions for April. The count ended the day at 805 and the average and median sale prices have gone up instead of down. (They usually decline at the end of the month when all the transactions are entered.) Is this significant? In hind site we will know in a couple of months. A blip, or the rise many have been expecting. In tracking these monthly statistics over the past 2 1/2 years I’ve never seen these averages go up in the final days of entry. Two business day will need to be completed before statistics for April will be pulled. This means it will be Tuesday, May 5th when those final numbers for the report will be pulled. We shall keep you up to date and informed.
The summer sun is heating up, and it looks like the Tucson Real Estate market is doing the same.
Finally, for those interested, the WIFI at the Airport Radisson is so slow I’ve seen faster dial-up connections. How slow is it. Well this afternoon there were two kids in the parking lot with tin cans and a string between them sending data faster than we could over the wifi. Hum!
