Two Sides of Coin Affordability - Disciplined Buyers
Almost everyone agrees that any kind of sustainable recovery has to begin with housing, if it does not begin there it has to be involved very soon. The housing industry in our country is so large it makes the auto industry seem but a grain of sand.
Some of the solutions being proposed by those that build homes and sell homes are geared at making it easier to purchase a home. If anyone can remember way back three years ago, making it easy to purchase a home is what got us into this mess.
Making homes affordable is one side of a two sided coin. It doesn’t matter how far the price of housing comes down if the people who need and want to purchase a home are so deep in debt from purchasing their Iphones, Ipods BMW’s and all the other shinny objects they “just have to have”.
The American Dream no longer seems to be owning a home. Now a home is just a place to put all our shinny stuff.
Affordability is one side of the coin. People disciplined enough to save and stay away from the shiny bobbles is the other.
