The server this blog is on is currently undergoing maintenance. I first noticed an issue when I tried to make some changes to my css.style sheet and it wiped out the file and the formatting for the blog. I tried a lot of things and finally called tech support. The scripted answer was that I could do reads on the server but no writes and it would be up again in 72 hours.
I had to change the theme to kee the blog up and running, and I’m not even sure this post will be able to be saved and published. So here goes.

I should follow up on my own post. It was down for about 13 hrs. And once it was back up several things that hadn’t been working before were fixed. For example, the favicon wouldn’t show up anywhere, and the link to the blog, if it didn’t have the trailing / it would say page not found, I would add the / and it would pop right up. Now all the pages come up and the / is filled in if it is missing.
I hate the downtime, but the results are much better and I’ll stop wasting hours trying to figure out why those two things wouldn’t work on this site when they worked on all the others.
