If you build it will they come is more like it
This saying is from a movie. Hello, I’m saying this again. THIS IS FROM A MOVIE. I know some think movies are reality and can’t make the distinction between the two. Ever been to a Star Trek convention or a service at a Jedi church? In reality, If you build it and they don’t come you file for bankruptcy. This is happening now in reality all across the country.
Of course new housing starts are down. It appears they will be that way for some time to come. Just because the “Arizona Daily Star” reports there are 2 bright spots soften otherwise grim economic picture doesn’t mean it is all over and construction is going back to what it was in the past few years. Far from it, it looks like we could never see it again like it was and that is a very good thing.
New home permits in Tucson edged up in April, (this is a bright spot?) This is no big deal, so a few more permits were pulled in April over March. Whoopee.
National report showing everyone shocked that construction of new homes increased by the biggest percent in two years. Of course in the fine print at the end of the article you find this is construction of Apartment buildings while SFR’s are down again by 1.7% to a 16 year low.
These are the bright spots : ) Honestly, in reality, it isn’t that bad.
Newspapers can report a lite match as a forest fire.
But if you really are concerned for the future maybe you should attend a Star Trek convention or a Jedi church service. Once you have been to either you will feel better about the economy and may the Force be with you.
