REBlogworld In Las Vegas

This morning was an early one with packing up the laptop, cameras, Oh yeah, and clothes to head to Las Vegas for the Blogworld conference and specifically the REBlogworld conference being held tomorrow as a part. I’m participating in a somewhat “debate”, a sort of Point Counterpoint theme for Wordpress Self hosted blogs vs another platform. I know sounds pretty boring. But the conference itself will have bloggers from all over the world in attendance and speaking on Fri, Sat, and Sunday morning.
It was off to breakfast as usual then to my Dad’s where my sister Beth is visiting from Washington DC. They took me to the airport and Dad will pick me up on Monday after the conference.
The flight was bumpy and a small child in the row in front had a tough time with climbing and descending but not to worry, I have little doors on my hearing aids which turn off the power when opened and all was quiet in my world : )
Once here a quick Taxi ride to the Best Western and getting set up so I could write this post before heading out to the convention center where the conference is tomorrow.
It has been a couple of years since I traveled by air and I wasn’t looking forward to getting through security with a laptop and 4 cameras (I travel light) my new Blackberry (more on that tomorrow) and the prescriptions I take as a diabetic. Chapstick and eye drops in a plastic bag (doing my part for national security) and wearing sandals to make it easy to take them off before walking through security scan. Reading glasses and hearing aids don’t set them off.
Holy Cow, does it sound like I’m falling apart? Contact lenses, hearing aids, reading glasses, chapstick, eye drops, granola bars (hey, a guy has to eat). But I made it in tact and ready for the conference. I’ll be taking more pictures (thus the 4 cameras) while I’m here. I’ll use a couple for blog posts this week here and in a Flickr set for anyone interested in what’s going on here.
Have a great day, what’s left of it. Oh, yeah, I saved the stock market this morning while I was at it by getting out of the market so it could go up 410 points today. Please, no need for thanks, it is the second time this year I’ve had to rescue the economy.
