Kristal is one of my best friends, we are in touch with the help of Skype almost daily (just read her post, on occasion). She loves photography and is a “geekess” which was an instant click between us. She has a wonderful sense of humor and we get to laugh and LOL a lot. Enjoy this post by my friend Kristal. And if you ever are thinking about a Summer home in Denver, be sure to get in touch with her and her husband Larry McGee.
When I work with home buyers relocating to Denver, I generally talk about their likes and dislikes in a home and the area in general. Often I find the home buyers will share their “perfect home” scenarios, knowing full well such a home probably doesn’t exist!
There are so many amenities we have come to enjoy, size, location, floorplan and walkability are a few of the criteria people ask for.
Then they throw in things like,”I want to live in the mountains on a flat lot.” Requests like these typically make me scratch my head.
Better yet are the folks who want to live in the mountains but be 10 minutes to Downtown Denver. I love responding to this, no matter how hard I try, I still can’t move mountains or a city!
In the end, most people get in touch with reality. We all have learned somewhere along the road of life, wishing is ok, but in the end we must choose the best of what is offered to us and be happy for it.
Dave Smith the author of this wonderful blog and I Skype chat on occasion. We talk about many things, but most consistently we compare the weather between our two lovely cities; Tucson and Denver.
Dave will attest he likes to let me know how lovely and warm it is all winter long, when I am wearing my woolies trying to stay warm!
Of course as summer approaches I get my digs telling him how green the landscape is becoming!
For those who choose to live and bake in Tucson, the summers are made for Colorado, please come visit us! If you can’t visit please don’t complain to loudly as you must remember why.
Your why is probably summed up in the photo above. Am I correct?
There is NO perfect house. There is NO perfect neighborhood. There is NO perfect climate.
Let’s accept it and enjoy our homes warts, weather and all.
