I'm at least 60% and yes, the headset is about the only way I make a phone call. I love the wireless set which allows me to roam up to 20 feet from my PC. I simply can't use a cell phone. I do training over the phone with some sessions as long as 2 1/2 hours. Skype makes this possible and my headphones provide the way for me to communicate efficiently over the phone.

I usually function by reading lips. My hearing loss is about 60%.

I am hearing impaired in both ears and wear hearing aids…I am wondering if a headset would help. I'm using this wireless headset: http://share.skype.com/sites/skypegear/2008/01/skypegear_roadtest_freetalk_st.html
It works great, the hearing aids are left in or you can remove and turn up the volume. No frequency boost, but volume control. They work great for me and have a range of about 30 feet.

As another hearing-impaired skype user, I'd be interested in knowing the headset model you've found to work with your hearing loss. Do you remove your hearing aids in order to use the headset, or wear the set over the hearing aids? And are there any frequency 'boost' features on the head set to enhance understanding?

Dave,

As another hearing-impaired skype user, I’d be interested in knowing the headset model you’ve found to work with your hearing loss.
