I think what your referring to is better know as the American Dream. I don't think the American Dream is gone for good, I just think that we have lost some of our ideals (to greed and seeking profits over people) along the way. Yes- it would be refreshing to see a return to some simple, old fashion values, wouldn't it?! Maybe we are at a turning point... White picket fences, take heart!
