Tucson AZ Real Estate Listings

This past week has been incredibly busy in our office. Sleep has been something to grab in the wee hours of the morning before a shower and caffeine. Fuel the day. This past week we took on three new listings. There is a lot of work that goes into putting a new listing on the market.
- Paperwork (Barbara’s dept.)
- Get Listing Ready for Photos (Barbara) If no furnishings, some stagging required.
- Photos (Dave)
- Picking out the photos to use (Barbara) : (
- Virtual Tour (Dave)
- Website for the listing (Dave)
- Plant the sign (Dave)
- Create Color Flyers (Barbara & Dave) See we do work together : )
There is more to it than this, much more, but you get the gist of it all.
Multiply this process by 3 and shorten the week to 4 days in which this all took place and you can see why it has been a week that zoomed by.
I have one final touch to do on one of the listing websites and they are complete. This brings me to the topic of this post.
To Blog about listings
I author 5 blogs. This takes time and thought and a desire to research, photograph and write. In addition to authoring these blogs I also read many blogs which are real estate related. There are a lot of topics in the real estate blogosphere about what should or shouldn’t be topics for discussion on a local blog. One of the recurring topics is Blogging about your listings.
I have never blogged about any of our listings on this or the other to Real Estate blogs I author. I have blogged about how to create a single property website on the technical RE bloggers blog The Real Estate Blog Lab .
Each of our listing websites are in the navigation at the left under Tucson Listings. Catchy title isn’t it. That’s about as far as I have gone in promoting these listings.
I thought it was to much like “Selling” and while we make our living helping people sell and buy real estate I’ve been hesitant to actually write a post about any of them.
So I’m going to take a stab at it. For one reason. The first one I’ll blog about is really a cute place. There are some homes you fall in love with as soon as you step in the front door. There are others I call “Vanilla Snowstorms” they have no furnishings (vacant) all white walls, all white (beige) carpets, you get the idea. They are wonderful homes, but the Photographer in me wants more to work with in creating a website and photos that capture not just the room sizes and where the doors are located. I want to capture the feeling of house that has the potential to be some one’s next place to call home.
I’m not in the market to buy or sell a home, but I do like looking at them. I like to see what others have done to make their home unique and to get ideas I might want to implement in our place. I enjoy looking at homes. This is the other reason I’m going to blog about a listing from time to time. If you want to see the current listings I’ve created web sites for you can always check what is in the Tucson Listings section to the left. If this doesn’t interest you at all, do what I do, skip that post.
If you have an opinion on this one way or another please feel free to express it. I like getting input into what goes on here and the content I write about. Of course there is one more reason I haven’t mentioned yet. I want to share (show off) some of my photos. Granted they are just interiors of houses and not my favorite landscapes, but they are still my images. And for me they are the hardest photos to take. I spend a lot of time setting them up and then getting them just right. And I want to share them with more than just buyers looking for a new home.

For the interior shots what mm lens do you use? And are you just using the available light?

Jim,
I’m shooting most at 14mm I’m using multiple flashes. I meter for the room and windows then start filling with flash usually at 1/8 power with stofen diffuser or Lumiquest hood.
