A Home Office is a Valuable Selling Asset
Did you know that last year 23% of the work force worked from home? This number is growing each year. Initially businesses were reluctant to have workers work from home. They were afraid people wouldn’t actually work if they were at home instead of in the corporate office.
Now they find that people are often more productive if they are working from home. They also discovered that those big buildings and office equipment they have to provide cost a lot of money, money they save if a percentage of their workforce works from home.
Therefore, you might want to consider making one of the rooms in your house a home office. Complete with high speed internet connectivity and dedicated fax lines. The home office to many home buyers is more important than having a third or fourth bedroom.
The home office is also a room that is often overlooked when marketing a home. The Greatroom, Kitchen, Master Bedroom and views often get most of the attention. Emphasis on a modern home office should be added.
This also means when it comes time to shoot listing photos you should (at least for one day) have the office picked up and cleaned up photo ready.
There isn’t a picture of our home office on this post because I want to go on living. : ) Besides the hedgehogs are blooming now and they are much prettier than our fax machine or shredder.
