Tucson is Hot Are You Thinking About A Pool

Tucson AZ PoolWe are in the midst of a long string of triple digit days and it is making everyone just a little cranky. Some people are heading to the movie theaters other are heading to the community pool.

Some have finally decided this is the time to save gas money and put in that pool they have been dreaming and planning on installing.

A lot of thought goes into picking a design, style, look, features and position of the pool in the yard. Maybe the addition of a water feature or spa are also added to the design.

One more thing should get more attention than it often does.

Landscaping around the Pool

Tucson AZ Flowers Floating in PoolLandscaping often falls into the after thought category when planning to install a pool in your own yard.

Here are a couple of things to take into consideration.

  • You don’t want trees or bushes that drop a lot of debris in your pool
  • You don’t want to plant cactus or plants with thorns around your pool

That’s it pretty short and simple. I’ve seen a lot of pools with both within winds blow of a pool and the owners spend a lot of time cleaning limbs, leaves and flowers out of the pool

Mesquite trees are pretty messy. They drop a lot of leaves, pods and little limbs. But they aren’t the worst.

Tucson AZ BouganvillaBougainvillea are by far the one plant I see most often around pools and they are really messy. They are pretty, but they are messy.

Therefore, when planning on our back yard pool to beat the summer heat here in Tucson be sure to add to your list the landscaping around the pool.

Making good choices can keep you time cleaning the pool to a minimum so you have more time to enjoy the pool.

Oh, and don’t forget to lay in a case of 1 gazillion sun screen you will need it.

Nice that you included the tip about sun screen. People often overlook that all important safety tip. Being exposed to direct sunlight can result in burns.
