Tucson Long Narrow House is it a Vampire Idea

Long Narrow HouseHave you ever heard of a vampire idea? It is an idea that can’t stand the light of day. It might have sounded good or great the night before but in the light of day you wonder “What the heck was I thinking?”

The jury is still out on this idea. Oh, you don’t know what the idea is yet do you. It is a house that is currently under construction that is a house that is about 150 feet long and 10 feet wide, Outside Dimensions. The inside dimension is 9′4″. The lot is 30 feet wide with a 10 foot set back on each side meaning there is 10 feet left on which to build the house. Here is the whole article “Extra Thin Home“.

From the reactions and comments in the Arizona Daily Star there are mixed opinions. It seems the further you are from the home the more accepting you are of the idea of a “home that is different”. Those living in the same neighborhood, well . . .

When the home is completed it will have 2 bedrooms, and about 1500 sq. ft. of living space. It is stated “the likely asking price is $290,000″. There are some who are always attracted to the odd or different, therefore, I imagine there will be someone that will purchase this home.

I certainly wouldn’t want to be the person trying to sell it a few years down the road. I also wouldn’t want to be the listing agent at that time. Just trying to come up with creative ways to market this home could end up in more than one sleepless night and more than one vampire idea.

Very few will truly enjoy it because very few truly understand the architectual genius. Some wil find the house..irresistable.

    Toril,

It is a very unique home, that will limit it for resale. Lets just hope the person that finds it irresistible wants to live in Tucson.
