Tucson November 2007 What Do You Mean Its Over
Have you ever heard the phrase “Busy as North Americas largest rodent“? No, How about “Busy as a beaver”? I can’t believe that November 2007 is gone. It flew by for a number of reasons.
Yes, Dave tell us what you have been doing while we’ve been waiting.
- I know the local and national media have continued to focus on the bad new in real estate. These being the slow down in new construction and the sub-prime/Alt-A mortgage meltdown. But around Tucson it has been very, very busy with a lot of buyers in the market.
- Buyers in the market translate into a lot of hours in the car, writing of offers, photos taken, video tours generated, home inspection attended etc.
- My first cold in nearly 4 years. (Honest It felt like allergies to the Desert Broom) It took a week (10 days) and three boxes of tissues carried around one at a time like a childhood teddy bear that went everywhere with me. When your head hurts like it is stuck in a vise it is hard to think let alone be creative and write.
- Thanksgiving, was that in November. . . ?
- I got a new camera Nikon D300. We have been so busy it sat in the box for the first 5 days I owned it. YES, THAT BUSY. It comes with a 400 page manual and all of the pages are in English. (no back to back double book multi-language manual. I’m not finished reading it yet.) Yes, I read the manual!
Add all of this together and the need for sleep a few hours a night and it came out. . . THE BLOGS SUFFERED FROM A LACK OF NEW CONTENT! (I author 4 of them).
We are rapidly pushing our way to the end of the first week in December and I’m about ready to make my predictions on how the Tucson Real Estate Market will do in 2007. Oh, is it a little late for that prediction? Here is a hint. It is much better than the media would like you to believe.
So you can see why I’ve felt like I’ve been swimming with my nose just above water. (there is a pun here but I won’t use it) and why the choice of a busy beaver. We are still busy as these rodents but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel and I don’t think it is a train coming right at us.
Finally here is an image I snapped yesterday while at a termite inspection. I took it with the new D300. Click it to see a closeup of just one section of the image. 12 megapixels means less space on each memory card, but more resolution when you want to zoom in on just one section of an image.
The more I use it, the more I love it.

Dave what encouraging story. Your optimism shines through as it should with everybody in our industry. It is up to us to make a difference for our consumers. You are right, “there is light at the end of the tunnel” and that is coming quick. Have a beautiful day!
Julie,
Hey, I’m glad you found one of my blogs. And you have the distinction of the first from the Buzz to be here.
OK, I’m convinced you were busy! If a guy can leave a new gadget for 5 days… that IS BUSY in my book!
Btw, seems like I’m missing a blog… What others do you have besides the Oro Valley blog? ‘Cause I’m not wasting enough time online as it is…

And of course this one Tucson AZ Real Estate.
Thanks for letting me put all these links in a single comment : )
LOL, you’re welcome, Dave.;-))
Oh, yeah, now I remember I’ve seen the Lab. IMO, RE News and RE should be actually combined. You’re making us dizzy shuttling back and forth for something new.;-)
I would like to combine them, but I get too much traffic to do it. I’m gradually trying to shut down the old one, but so many people continue to link to it.
Very hard to give it up. Slowly this next year I’m thinking of migrating most of the material to this site. Then ask those linking to the site to move to here.
But for now, I guess you take some dizzy pills. : )
