Actually it goes well beyond a new skin. The site is going to look a lot different. More content above the fold. If you have a widescreen monitor the site will better fill your screen and make it so you don’t have to scroll down as much as before.
More Navigation Space
There will now be two top navigation bars instead of just one. There will also be an additional sidebar added to again display more content above the fold.
More Custom MLS Searches
It will be easier to find the custom searches that are setup. Many of the strictly map searches are going to now include the latest 50 listings in that custom search along with a map locating the properties in the right sidebar.
If you have a custom search for a subdivision or a class of properties (Ex. Gated Golf Homes On The Golf Course) you would like to have included on the site let us know. I’ll build it and add it to our custom searches.
The Blog Posts Are Moving
Right now the way the site is structured, the home page shows the last three blog posts published. Soon a new “Landing Page” will take over the home page slot and the Blog posts will be moving to a new page “Tucson RE News“
What Would You Like to See?
That’s right, an open invitation to add to the design features of the site. Our purpose in this site is to make it easy to search for Tucson homes on the market & to answer questions about what life in Tucson is like. We sprinkle in a few observations about Tucson, the Tucson Real Estate Market and information about some of the events going on in and around Tucson. If there is something more you would like to see here, let us know. One of the nice things about being a site developer myself, I don’t have to wait for the “Web Guy”, because I am the Web Guy. However, that said, our site while always being functional, has in some ways been like the cobbler’s kids. They are the last ones in town to get new shoes, but when they do they are really nice shoes. I’ve been developing some nice Small Business sites this last year and a half. Now it’s time to take some of those features I really like and put them into practice here.
If you come to the site and it looks a bit scrambled, come back in an hour. There are some things I need to do as we make the change that can only be done while the site is up and live. But it might not look to pretty. But all those changes should take less than an hour to make. I’m planning on making the move during off peak hours for use of the site. Hopefully no one will be effected. But since our site has visitors from all over the world there is the potential for someone to be on site 24/7.
